|May 2014: Three Portraits become Finalists in the ARC 2013-2014 International Salon Competition
Svetlana Cameron has three of her portraits selected as finalists in one of the most prestigious annual competitions for realist painters - the ARC International Salon.
The winning works are now featured on the ARC website in the "Finalists in the Figurative Category" section and will be published in the 2013/2014 ARC Salon catalogue.
|April 2014: Winning Portrait Featured in Pastel Journal, USA
Portrait drawing "Girl with the Pearl Earring" by Svetlana Cameron is featured in the April 2014 issue of the Pastel Journal following its success in the 15th annual "Pastel 100" competition in the USA. The successful artwork stood out among nearly 2500 entries and won the "Honourable Mention" award.
|January 2014: Portrait Bishop of Sodor and Man unveiled in St German's Cathedral, Isle of Man
Portrait of Lord Bishop of Sodor and Man, the Rt Rev Robert Paterson MA MLC has been unveiled in a ceremony that followed a service in St German's Cathedral on Sunday 19 January. The unveiling was attended by senior clergy, members of the congregation, invited guests and the media.
The portrait continues the "Tynwald Day" series of paintings and captures the first part of the Tynwald Day ceremony - service at the church of Saint John the Baptist, also known as the Royal Chapel. The painting shows the Bishop in his convocational robes holding the diocesan crozier; the background includes a stained glass panel depicting two important Manx saints.

|November 2013: Successful Debut in Moscow
Two works by Svetlana Cameron have won awards at the Russian Art Week - an international exhibition and competition of contemporary arts which took place in Moscow in November 2013. Portrait drawings "Elizabeth" and "Henry and Toffee" were awarded the 2nd and 3rd places respectively in the "Academic Drawing. Portraits" category.
The successful works will be published in the competition catalogue titled "New Faces in Arts".
|October 2013: National Recognition - Svetlana Cameron Elected Member of Society of Graphic Fine Art
Following a successful portfolio presentation and debut appearance in the annual open exhibition "DRAW 13" at the Menier Gallery in London, Svetlana Cameron was elected Associate Member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art.
Founded in 1919, SGFA is the only British national society dedicated exclusively to promoting fine drawing skills in both traditional and contemporary media. Today there are just over 100 members of the Society across the UK - professional artists from all areas of the art world - elected on quality of their work. |Autumn 2013: Portrait Wins in the "Strokes of Genius" International Competition
Portrait "Girl with the Pearl Earring" has been selected from 1500 submissions to be published in North Light Books' Strokes of Genius 6: Value | Lights & Darks. The prestigious hardcover will be released in 2014 and will feature finest examples of contemporary drawings by 124 winning artists from around the world.
|June 2013: Pastel Portrait becomes finalist the national "RBSA Portrait Prize 2013" Competition
Portrait "Iona and Cocoa" beat hundreds of nation-wide submissions and became one of only 50 works selected by the senior members of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters to be exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Gallery.
Exhibition dates: 17 July - 24 August 2013.
|Spring 2013: Two Portraits Successful in the Art Renewal Centre International Salon Competition, USA For the second year in a row Svetlana Cameron is a finalist in the ARC Salon, one of the most prestigious international art competitions held in the USA. With an approximate 2000 entries this year by over 850 artists, the competition was steeper than ever.
Two works by Svetlana - portrait drawing "Elizabeth" and an oil portrait "Father Brian" - have been selected as finalists in the "Figurative" category. The successful works are now featured in the ARC 2012/2013 Salon Catalogue and on the Art Renewal Centre website www.artrenewal.org

Prize-winning portrait "Daniel" is featured in the Pastel Journal (USA) alongside an article about Svetlana Cameron and her painting technique.
The special April 2013 issue of the magazine features winners and finalists of the 14th annual international competition "Pastel 100", in which 100 best pastel paintings were selected from nearly 3000 submissions.
Svetlana's work "Daniel" won 4th prize in the Figurative category.
|Autumn 2012: Portraits of Speakers Included in the UK National Collection of Oil Paintings
Two official portraits by Svetlana Cameron - those of the former Speakers of the House of Keys Mr. David Cannan and Mr. Tony Brown OBE - have been included in the UK national collection of oil paintings by the Public Catalogue Foundation and are featured on the BBC Your Paintings website.
The PCF is a registered charity revealing the entire national collection of oil paintings in public ownership in the United Kingdom. Working with various organisations including the BBC, the University of Glasgow and the Citizen Science Alliance, the PFC has photographed the nation's oil painting collection and making it accessible through a series of printed catalogues and the Your Paintings website. Your Paintings is a website which aims to show the entire UK national collection of oil paintings, the stories behind the paintings, and where to see them for real. It is made up of paintings from thousands of museums and other public institutions around the country.
